* This is just a mini review for NARS smudge-proof primer.  It is the BEST primer I have yet to run across in my time at Sephora.  These photos were taken 11 hours after application and it still looked as fresh as when I first applied it.  Nothing was touched up.  AH-mazing!

LUSH Solid Shampoo - "Dr. Peppermint" Review

OK, OK, don't give me a hard time because this review isn't about makeup!  But trust me, I'm now OBSESSED with LUSH and must now review what I've tried.  Plus, be thankful I've taken the time to write anything on my poor neglected blog.

What comes to mind when I first smelled the bar is a STRONG peppermint and spearmint scent.  Some of the main essential oils in the shampoo are peppermint, spearmint, and black pepper.  That would explain all the tiny black bits I saw in there when I was looking at it close up.  Great, I hope people don't think it's flea poo if the see it in my hair.  Regardless, I don't care!  This shampoo made my scalp dance!  I love a good tingle as much as the next person and this bar didn't disappoint.  This soap is specifically designed for people who have thinning hair, but I got it because I love the smell and feel of peppermint, especially in my bath products.  The price is $9.95, which seems pretty pricey for such a small disc as this, but with just three swipes to my wet head, this worked up enough lather to shampoo my ,just past the shoulders, length hair.  A+ for Dr. Peppermint!

Nail Look of the Week! (month?)

So, this is kinda ending up looking more like "nail look of the month" right now, but I just don't get around to it right now like I should.  Plus, I've been picking up SO many extra hours at work, it's been insane!

I used Dior Vernis in #905 Black Sequins and on top is Nicole by OPI's "Let's Get Star-ted" I just added one star to each nail and then because the glitter in the Dior polish doesn't really show through too well, used the purple glitter/clear polish that the stars were floating in from the OPI color to top it off.  From my experience these OPI polishes with the chuncky glitter shapes are hard to remove since you can just remove the polish that's sitting on top of the glitter chunk and nothing that's below it.  Just flick the little fuckers off with a birchwood stick or wedge them off with a fingernail of the other hand.  It's really not that much extra effort after having preped the polishing surface with a 4-way buffer, cutical remover, cutical oil, clipping, & filing.  *shrug*
Look at the state of these!  You can tell I'm no professional at this, but they were really much cuter at the start of the day when I first painted them and you weren't looking at them so darn close!

Til next time MUA's!   Peace!

Sugarpill Cosmetics- Swatches & Comparison to MUFE

Here are side by side comparisons of some of the new Sugarpill pressed eyeshadows next to the Make Up For Ever shadows of the same ilk. On the left are the Sugarpill colors and then the MUFE colors to the right.

In the first photo is SP's Love+ & MUFE #99 Red. This one has to go to Sugarpill! I am SO impressed with this red color I can not even explain it! Just please excuse my dry hands or the cameras ability to pick up detail, you pick.

Next is SP's Buttercupcake & MUFE #2 Yellow. The winner again is Sugarpill! I'm just sad Amy didn't have these out sooner to keep me from buying the MUFE shadows at $19 a pop!

In the second photo we have SP in Dollipop & MUFE #26 Hot Pink. As you can see the SP pink is MUCH pinker for starters and I found it to be a tad more pigmented and just as smooth as MUFE.

The next one is SP's Poison Plum & MUFE #92 Purple. I have to say it's a tie concerning color. They are just two different purples. MUFE being more on the bluer side of purple and the Sugarpill purple has a tad of shimmer to it. BOTH are very good.

Third is SP's Flamepoint & MUFE #18 Orange. The clear winner here is Sugarpill! Way more pigmented and brighter for sure. I definitely had to swipe the color less times with SP.

Nail Look of the Week: Valentine's Day(bleh!)

So, I HATE Valentine's Day, but in the spirit of working in the public eye and in the cosmetics industry, I played along today. This is China Glaze in "Pink Voltage" and Nicole by OPI in "Love Your Life" over the top

Welcome to this feeble first attempt at a beauty blog.

Ok, so, hello! I'm Bettina and I'm a makeup junkie. Let's get this straight first...it's JUST makeup, not beauty products, hair do-dads, skins creams, clothes, OR shoes. Well, I do like nail polish, but that will not be the main focus of this blog. I'm also a Sephora employee and I will be reviewing quite a few products from a lot of cosmetic companies new Spring lines.(Disclaimer: Although I am an employee of Sephora USA, Inc., in no way do my opinions or statements represent the company. I am also not paid for my opinions by Sephora or any other cosmetics company) If you have any questions feel free to ask. So, in keeping with short and sweet when NOT reviewing or commenting on anything makeup related products. Keep it real MUA's!
